One of the best things to do here is to hear from someone who was truly deceived by this man. There are honest remarks about those who pay Chikli for the amount they have done stupidly and gulliblely, getting what they deserve. for the same reason You could argue that if this were the tone of the film, The Tinder Swindler might have had a very different outcome! Although the plot is okay But the biggest problem is the tone mentioned above. The idea is quirky, light and refreshing, it feels like the wrong message to be sent out regardless of whether the victims are high-powered. And that’s the biggest problem with the movie. The feeling of ridicule and accusation against the scammers themselves. It sometimes looks like a “joke”, discrediting the damage these scammers can actually do. After all, The Masked Scammer is an interesting story told entirely the wrong way. And of course it could have been a lot better.
