Prisoners known by nicknames such as Zero, Zig-Zag, Armpit, Squid, X-Ray and Magnet spend their days digging holes in the desert. They may get a day off if they find something interesting in the hole. After Stanley finds a tube of gold lipstick initialed KB and Fossil, he is accepted into the group and given the nickname Caveman. Stanley pleads guilty and leads Mr. Sir to Walker’s cabin. Inside, Stanley notices old tracing posters and newspapers. That made him realize that “KB” stands for Katherine “Kissin’ Kate” Barlow, the criminal his great-grandfather encountered. Walker attacked Mr. Sir for an unrelated report. and allowed Stanley to return to work.
